Hello friends,
My nickname is Suani (or Xuan, in my beautiful native Vietnamese language).
I’m originally from Saigon, Vietnam, and still very deeply there in my soul. Though I must admit that I lived quite a “nomad” lifestyle in my 20s, moving from Vietnam to Finland for my Bachelor degree, then to Shanghai, back home to Vietnam just to then back to Europe in the Netherlands for my Master degree.
3 months before turning 30, I bravely (or crazily?) decided to “challenge” myself again and moved to Germany to start it all over (still no regret doing it so far!).
But why this background story?
I’ve always been an adventurer, a multi-passionate dreamer, an advocate for a life full of potential, freedom and fulfillment. And my belief is that…
It’s such a life worth living, when you get to explore the world, push your own boundaries to learn new things and to grow in any environments, and ultimately, to unlock your full potential and live a life full of colors and experiences, which you can pass on and help others with.
It has been a privilege but also a trade-off.
As an overachiever Asian, a Vietnamese in Europe, I’ve been living most of my 20s and now my early 30s pursuing my dreams and building a career far away from home.
It means, access to great opportunities for education and self-development, exposure to different cultures, arts and modern society, good work-life balance, wealth and freedom in certain forms.
I learn and grow so much, not just my skillset but also mindset. I’ve got good job opportunities, travelled, picked up different hobbies and met kind people.
But this life also means self-independence to a point of loneliness, language barriers and cultural differences that make a full life integration quite difficult, feeling lost and disconnected from home, family, friends, and even from myself.
Day after day, the harder I work and put on a performance to advance in my corporate job and maintain my long-term stay in Europe, the further I feel drifting from who I truly am and what I truly want out of life.
I am grateful but struggle within, and that is when I start to question…
How can I truly live a life full of joy, freedom and fulfilment, so that ...
I can spend time with my loved ones back home more than once a year and not just for a few weeks every visit?
I can have the freedom of a long-term foreign resident without being bound under the condition of a visa-sponsorship either from a company or a marriage?
I can do what I love doing, explore the world, and live my full potential, regardless if my corporate employers or the society deem that that fits their agenda or not?
I can help more people the best I could while not being restricted to a physical location or a defined profession?
I can simply stay true to myself and create something extraordinary of my own?

If Bullet Journal system is one of my ‘behind the scene’ success secrets, English language skills are my ‘forefront’ weapons to nail all those scholarships and jobs abroad as a young ordinary Vietnamese girl.
I believe, knowledge and experience play 40% of the role, showing a foreign language fluency and communication skills decided 60%!
Especially in highly competitive situations like getting into a selective Management Trainee program or getting a full time job position amid a global pandemic.
Now German language skills are next on my radar. My current study goal is to reach C1 by the end of 2025.
